so, prom was this past saturday. it was....okay. i didn't have a bad time, but it wasn't anything special at all, in my opinion. it was just a big school dance with food and and a boat at the end. it was somewhat amusing in that, my friends and i had to essentially walk to the prom in the first place. there were nine of us and we took a limo, but the driver dropped us off at the wrong hotel and he drove off before we realized that we were at the wrong place. so, instead of waiting to be picked up by another limo (we were late as it was), we decided that we would walk the few blocks there. it was kind of ridiculous and very cold, but we managed to get there okay in the end.

we arrived and we said hello to various people, went to our assigned tables and ate eventually. after food, there was more talking and dancing. and then more dancing. and some talking. and more dancing. it was all a bit boring. finally, we were done dancing and talking at the official prom, and we ran off to get changed for the boat party afterwards. we rode on a cheesy looking boat on lake michigan until about three a.m. were there was more talking and even more dancing. some people were falling asleep. because it was boring. rachel and i amused ourselves by doing elaine's (from seinfeld) dance and playing the piano onboard, but they made us stop doing that after a while.

after the boat, the nine of us were trying to find a party to go to, but our friends that were throwing didn't get on the boat and instead got a hotel room were asleep by the time we were done. so, we went over meredith's house and sat around doing nothing until five in the morning when we all watched the sun begin to rise, and then fell asleep. how exciting.

like i said, i didn't have a bad time. it just wasn't that fun. there was just lots of doing nothing and being bored. it definitely wasn't my scene, but my friends and i stuck together and didn't bother with other people that we didn't like. i won't go next year, that's for sure. i'll be looking forward to an awesome anti-prom party then. i suppose it was interesting. an experience. i got to see how normal people function and i heard pop music for the first time in months. definitely not something i plan to relive again, but that's all right. i didn't die or wish that i was dead. i survived prom......who would've guessed?
